A brazen thief was caught on camera stealing a package from the front porch of a California home while disguised as a garbage bag. According to KTVU, the bizarre crime unfolded on March 29 outside a house in Sacramento County.
Security camera footage shows the suspect in white sandals shuffling up the front step of Omar Gabriel Munoz's home. The porch pirate pulls the parcel under their trash bag costume before walking away from the house.
Munoz told reporters he was more impressed than angry over the trashy thief's bold actions.
"At first I was kinda angry but when I saw the video again I was laughing because people [these] days have a lot of creativity," the homeowner remarked. "That was a good one."
Munoz said the suspect stole two iPhone charges worth $10. He told Storyful that he got a notification about his package being delivered, but when he got home from work, it was nowhere to be found. It wasn't until he checked his surveillance cameras that he learned the truth.
He also decided not to file a police report, saying authorities "have more important things to do." He ended up ordering the phone chargers again.
